The Government has released India Rankings 2023 (NIRF),which lists top 10 colleges of india. Delhi University’s colleges have dominated this year’s NIRF Rankings too. This list is now available at the official website -nirfindia.org.
In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023 released today for 13 categories. Delhi University’s Miranda House has once again retained its top position.
- Miranda House,New Delhi
Delhi University’s Miranda House has been at the top for the last seven years i.e,2017. Miranda House is a constituent college for women at the University of Delhi in India. Established in 1948, it is one of the top ranked colleges of the country.
2. Hindu College,New Delhi
Hindu College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi in New Delhi, India. Being founded in 1899, it is one of the oldest and renowned colleges of the country which was ranked 2nd nationally by National Institute Ranking Framework under Ministry of Human Resource Development.
3. Presidency College,Chennai
Presidency College is an art, commerce, and science college in the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. On 16 October 1840, this school was established as the Madras Preparatory School before being repurposed as a high school, and then a graduate college. It ranked third in NIRF 2023 .
4. PSGR Krishnammal College for Women,Coimbatore
PSGR Krishnammal College for Women secured the fourth spot,a jump from its previous rank (6th) in 2022 . It is an autonomous arts and science college located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. India. It has been recognized as the ‘College of Excellence’ by the University Grants Commission.
5.St.Xavier’s College,Kolkata
St. Xavier’s College is a private, Catholic, autonomous higher education college under Calcutta University run by the Calcutta Province of the Society of Jesus in Kolkata, India. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1860 and named after St. Francis Xavier, a Jesuit saint of the 16th century, who travelled to India. It’s rank also improved from 8th spot in 2022 to 5th spot this year .
6. Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm College,New Delhi
Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, formerly Sanatan Dharma College, is a co-educational constituent college of the University of Delhi. The college was founded on August 3, 1959, by the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha, Delhi. Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm college has secured the sixth spot .
7. Loyola College, Chennai
Loyola College is a private Catholic higher education institution run by the Society of Jesus in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 1925 by the French Jesuit priest, Francis Bertram, along with other European Jesuits. It is an autonomous Jesuit college affiliated with the University of Madras. Loyola College which secured the seventh spot,a decline from the fourth spot in 2022 .
8. Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, kolkata
Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, popularly known as Rahara V.C college is one of the best colleges of West Bengal, currently Autonomous and affiliated to the West Bengal State University. It is named after Swami Vivekananda. It was formerly affiliated with the Calcutta University. The Ramakrishna Mission Boys’ Home at Rahara, a branch centre of the Ramakrishna Mission, was founded in 1944 as an orphanage with a nucleus of 37 boys rendered orphan by the Great Bengal Famine of 1942-1943. Since then the Home grew in dimensions and activities adhering to the principle of service to mankind in the spirit of worship. Today, the Home is an educational complex with several schools and colleges wherein nearly four thousand students are receiving education and training in different subjects and trades according to the aptitude of each individual. It ranked eighth in NIRF All India Rankings 2023 .
9. Lady Shri Ram College for Women,New Delhi
Lady Shri Ram College for Women is a constituent women’s college, affiliated with the University of Delhi, and has a legacy in women’s education. last year it had gained the position of fifth,now it has retained ninth rank.
10. Kirori Mal College,New Delhi
Kirori Mal College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. Established in 1954, it is located in the North Campus of the university in New Delhi, India. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the sciences, humanities, social sciences and commerce. kirori mal college secured the tenth rank,same as 2022 .
